REVIEW: Quick FX No Shine Mattifier

Hello Pretty Ladies!

I've never been really a primer person. I think the only primer I did try was the ELF Mineral Infused Primer which I didn't really love to much. It was okay but not really that special if you ask me. I didn't notice any changes on my pores, it has a pretty smooth finish though.

I was hanging out at Watsons the other day and found this little gem.

QUICK FIX NO SHINE MATTIFIER

PRODUCT CLAIM

A light moisturizer that helps hide imperfections such as fine lines and pores while providing an exceptional smooth matte finish. Also helps prevent and treat pimples without drying out of the skin

SWATCHES

HOW IT LOOKS ON ME

Freshly applied

After 3 hours.

After 9 hours.

I know the pictures are a bit blurry but all I could say is that it really made my makeup stay all day.

THUMBS UP

* Has Salicilic Acid and Tea Tree extracts which helps with pimples
* REALLY blurs fine lines and pores!!! *NO KIDDING*
* Keeps your makeup in place all day long.
* Could be used after makeup is applied.
* PRICE! It is super affordable. The price will not be over 50 pesos. I don't remember the exact price but it was something like 55 pesos or a little over $1.
* The small pouch will go a long way. Been using it for 2 weeks now and I still have some on my pouch.
* Packaging is good. Super hygienic.

THUMBS DOWN

* Absolutely NONE! Although some people may think this wouldn't be a good product because it contains paraben.

FINAL VERDICT

I couldn't sing enough praises for this little baby. I love it immensely and would highly recommend it for people who would like a good primer but is on a tight budget like me.

44 pesos is really a good price for an AMAZING primer/moisturizer/mattifier like this one.

I've encountered this product on one of Ms. Say Tioco's video review which is why I decided to try it too. I really really really love it. I wish more beauty product manufacturers will make stuff like these. Affordable but has good quality.

Have you guys tried any of the QUICK FX products? What are your experiences with it? :)

REVIEW: Maybelline Color Sensational Lip Gloss

Hello My Pretty Readers! :)

If you have been following my Instagram page I did promise that a review for the Maybelline Colorsensational Lipgloss is coming up and now here it is! I have six shades from these collection so expect a long review. :)

MAYBELLINE COLOR SENSATIONAL LIP GLOSS

PRODUCT CLAIM

SOPHISTICATED  shine
LUXURIOUS feel
12 captivating shades

Why You'll Love It
Fall in love with color, all over again:
• Sophisticated color and shine from pure pigments
• Luxurious feel from nourishing honey nectar
• 12 captivating shades

For Best Results
Use the wand to apply lipgloss starting in the center of your upper lip. Work from the center to outer edges of your lips, following the contour of your mouth. Then glide across the entire bottom lip.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS

I purchased my first Color Sensational Lipgloss when I was in Australia. I got in from Paddy's Market. I think I got it for like $6-7. My first shade was Cranberry Cocktail. That was almost a year ago but I am still using it. I think I haven't even spent half of it and mind you I use it like 2-3 times a week at least that's depending on what my makeup look is.

SWATCHES

Here are the swatches for the ones I do have.

They're pretty pigmented aren't they?

WHAT IT LOOKS ON ME

TOUCH OF TOFFEE

Touch of Toffee is a warm pinkish nude color. The problem I have with this is that because of my pigmented lips it doesn't show the nude color as much as it should be. This would be perfect though for those who have less pigmented lips. Sometimes what I do is put a little liquid foundation on my lips and layer it with this just so that I could get that glossy nude lips. But all in all its a good nude lip gloss especially if you're sporting a smokey eye.

PLUM-TASTIC

I think Plum-tastic's shade is kind of in the middle of brickreddish and brownish when it's applied to my lips. I think its because of my pigmented lips again. When you swatch this on your hand the hint of plum color is indeed there. I really like this even though it didn't really look like what its supposed to on my lips.

MOCHA GLAZE

Mocha Glaze has that bronzy-caramel color with slight sparkles. I don't use it too often though for some reason but will try to create more looks with this shade.

BORN WITH IT

If Touch of Toffee is the nude pink one, Born with it is the peachy nude color. It is very nice on the lips and looks very natural.

CRANBERRY COCKTAIL

I love this shade! This is my first Color Sensational Lipgloss and I am still in love with it. Sometimes, I just go without any eye makeup, just some cheek tint and this and I'm ready to go. Cranberry Cocktail is a vibrant reddish color that would fit anyone who wears it. I promise. :)

WINE ALL MINE

This is also another favorite of mine. Wine All Mine has a dark purpleish hint to it with a little bit of sparkle. The lighting on this picture is just bad which didn't show the lip color its true color if it makes any sense. Sorry about that. :( I think the more accurate color is on the swatches part of my review.  If it's Summer on your country then I wouldn't recommend wearing this because I think it's color is more for the fall or winter season.

THUMBS UP

* I am in love with the color payoff. It is very pigmented for a lipgloss.
* Once the shine fades off, it leaves a hint of tint on my lips.
* Staying power is good. 3-4 hours without retouching. That includes eating and drinking.
* Scent is good. For me at least.
* Doesn't have a sticky feel on the lips.
* Packaging is very sleek looking.

THUMBS DOWN

* None at this time.

FINAL VERDICT

Just wanna repeat it again. I just love these lip glosses! Absolutely love them. What else can I say about them?? Hmmm.. I think I've said about everything I could say about them.

Oh yeah. I'm not sure if they ever sold this product here in the Philippines. I haven't seen it on any of the Maybelline counters here. My first one, I got it from Sydney and the other 5, I purchased online. See how much I love them? LOL. I even have to order them online. :)

I guess this would be the end of my review. Turns out it wasn't really that long was it? Or it is. I'm not really sure. Anyways, for my readers.. I just want to say..

Look of the Day: 80's Christmas Party Look

Last December, our company had our Christmas party at Manila Hotel with an 80's theme. I researched on it and thought I'll go with a loud red psychedelic tube dress and for makeup I just went with green and blue eyeshadow and pink nude lips.

I guess it's a little late for this post but thought I'd share it anyways. :)

What do you guys think?

REVIEW: Revlon's Nearly Naked Liquid Foundation

Hello Beauties!

I've been wanting to make a review for a while now but my work was keeping me busy most of the time. But now here I am with my long overdue review of Revlon's Nearly Naked Liquid Foundation.

Revlon's Nearly Naked Liquid Foundation

PRODUCT CLAIMS

Makeup so refreshingly light, it melts right in, creating a fresh even look. So the only one that knows you are wearing makeup is you. Blends seamlessly, buildable coverage.

Revlon’s breakthrough nearly naked makeup balances skin and makeup so they work in perfect harmony. With buildable coverage and seamless blending, you are sure to cover flaws and perfect your skin’s tone and texture. No heavy cakey or greasy mess.

Available in 16 true to tone shades.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS

For a while now, I've been looking for a foundation that not only has quality but also a good price. For a long time, my holy grail foundation has been the Revlon Photoready Liquid Foundation. Seriously, that baby didn't let me down ever! The color fits my skin tone and skin type perfectly. But lets be honest it is very costly. It is around almost a thousand pesos I believe and at this time.. I am really short on budget. So when I emptied my 2nd bottle, I decided to try something else.

I've read a lot about the Nearly Naked foundation and decided to try it. That product claim alone made me want to grab it but was too scared I'd be throwing away money on something I wouldn't like. So I've read and read reviews until one day I just decided to give it a go.

SWATCHES

For the Nearly Naked, my shade is 140 Natural Ochre which I think is one of the lightest on the warm toned shades. I checked the Revlon website and this shade is not on there weirdly. I think this specific shade is only available in Asia. I'm not sure. If you guys could explain it to me better then please comment below. :) I'm kind of new to this thing and would need to learn more. :) Alright.. I'm talking to much again!!

So here's my unblended swatch.

It appears to be a little too light for my skin but its totally not.
Here's my blended swatch.

Fits my skin perfectly doesn't it? :)

HOW IT LOOKS ON ME

This is how it looks like on me after just applying my full face makeup which consists of just the Nearly Naked foundation, Etude Dear Darling tint and Elf Waterproof Eyeliner.

I didn't set it with any powder just to see how long it will last before I get really oily.

Here's my look after 4 hours and in the sun.

I still look fresh don't I? :)

Thumbs Up

- Shade worked well with my skin tone
- Doesn't show any white cast on pictures
- Looked natural like what it claimed it will be
- Goes from semi matte to dewy finish after a while. just to emphasize.. dewy.. not oily
- Has spf 20
- Blendable and buildable
- Affordable (525 php for a 30 ml product. Not sure how much in the US)

Thumbs Down

- NO PUMP! I absolutely hate the packaging!
- not much coverage. If you have lots of blemishes to cover then you'd still need a concealer.

FINAL VERDICT

This foundation is my current go-to product whenever I go to the office, or malls and stuff like that. And here's the proof that I have already overused this product.

The name is almost all gone now. LOL.

I found some stuff about this product annoying like the packaging but all in all I think this is a good quality and affordable product that will last you a long time.

I've read reviews that this product is a dupe for the Nars Sheer Glow which I have no idea if its true or false because I haven't tried that one. I still with the affordable ones. Hehe. So for those of you who have tried Sheer Glow you might want to try this and see if its true. Oh and don't forget to tell me if it is.

I would recommend this for people with normal skin type because it does become dewy after a while. It might not be good for those with oily skin as it would probably slide of their face after a few hours. Or it maybe possible for them to use it but with a good primer to keep the product in place and keep the oil away.

Personally, I prefer applying this product using my fingers than with a brush. For some reason it don't work out for me when I use a brush. It settles on my pores when I do and they become really noticeable. I'm not sure though if its just with me or others have better luck with using brushes than I do.

Would I recommend this product? I definitely will. Especially for those girls who ware on a budget like me, this is really a good buy!

Have you guys tried this?

How did you like it? :)

Looking forward to talking with you guys!!
